Pancake Breakfasts
Beginning on April 12 and continuing to June 28, the Youth Ministry of
St. Alphonsus will be sponsoring all-you-can-eat Pancake Breakfasts to
help raise money to send Frank Minneci to World Youth day in Sydney,
Australia. The breakfast will consist of three pancakes and two
sausage patties. The cost will be $4.00 for adults and $1.00 for
children 5 - 12 years. Children under 5 will be admitted free.
Frank will be part of a contingent from the Diocese of Knoxville led by
Fr. David Carter. The group will depart from Sacred Heart on July 12
and will return on July 21. The group rate for each person is $3298.00,
which covers travel, room and food chits while at the event. Breakfast,
dinner and spending monies are not included.
Frank is a past member of our youth ministry and is currently a student at
Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tennessee. Frank is also a
member of the Knights of Columbus, council 8152, Crossville, TN.
While Frank was at St. Alphonsus, he was active in Liturgical Ministries,
serving as an Altar Server, Lector, Greeter and Extraordinary Minister.
As a member of our Youth Ministry, he was our Youth representative to the Parish
Pastoral Council and served as a Co-director of the Knoxville SEARCH retreat.
In addition to our breakfasts, we will be holding other fund-raisers
between April and the end of June. Please watch our Sunday Bulletin for
